Old Music Tuesdays: John Zorn Christmas
Happy Old Music Tuesday! Today I’m sharing a playlist from New York’s most important composer: John Zorn. For those of you who have never heard of him, he’s an avant-garde composer and multi-instrumentalist, although he’s probably most well known for playing the saxophone. He’s very diverse and has released hundreds of albums since the 1970s in a variety of genres. A couple of years ago, he released a Christmas album. Some of his stuff isn’t very accessible to those with pop music sensibilities, but the Christmas album is a collection of pretty straightforward smooth jazz renditions of some holiday favorites. Enjoy!
