Old Music Tuesdays: Stretch Arm Strong Proper Playlist
For this week’s Old Music Tuesdays, I wanted to expand on last week’s post and include a playlist of some of my favorite Stretch Arm Strong songs. I definitely favor their first three albums, as you can tell.
Stretch Arm Strong is one of those rare bands that I love for staying relatively the same. Usually, I like when a band grows/matures, whatever that means. Stretch Arm Strong’s material is all very similar throughout their career, but the music is so good that that’s what I want. The exception is the album Engage. On Engage, the music is generally more pop-punk oriented, and the vocals are different. (Cleaner?) Subsequently, this is my least favorite of their records. Luckily, Free At Last was a return to form.
Stretch Arm Strong is technically still together, but they haven’t released anything since 2005, and I don’t think they’ve toured in years, either. Maybe someday we’ll get another record or another show. They were always a lot of fun to see live. Click the respective images to buy their albums from Amazon.com. (You can get most of them for $5 or $6.) If you can’t see the playlist below, click here to be taken to my Grooveshark profile page.
