Old Music Tuesdays: Tooth and Nail Video Volume Three
If you’re an avid reader of this blog, you probably already guessed this week’s Old Music Tuesday playlist. (If you didn’t, it’s Tooth and Nail VHS Volume Three.)
Unlike the first two VHS releases, this video shied away from the heavier bands in favor of some of the more pop-oriented Tooth & Nail signings. This is probably my least favorite video in the VHS collection. It’s not that the videos or songs are weak, it’s the playlist that I think is a bit lacking in variety. Also, it includes a few goofy, uber-Christian music videos. (I’m not really a fan of zaniness for the sake of it, or in-your-face Christian music. Both seem dishonest to me.)
The videos are embedded on a YouTube playlist, below. Several musical genres are presented here, so if you don’t like a song, just skip to the next one. Other playlists from the Tooth and Nail video series are linked below as well. Enjoy!
MxPx: Pop punk from Seattle. You know this band.
Puller: Mike Lewis from For Love Not Lisa started this Oklahoma post-grunge band.
The OC Supertones: CCM ska punk from, well, OC.
Velour100: Female fronted indie melodies from Michigan.
Value Pac: California pop punk.
Driver Eight: Indie rock, and the first band I ever saw live.
Ghoti Hook: DC area wacky pop punk
Plankeye: Alternative CCM rock from California.
